Multiscale Characterization of Erosion of TA2 Titanium Alloy Welded Joints

To prolong the service time of ship and seawater piping systems, titanium alloys have a series excellent properties, such as their low density, high strength, corrosion resistance, they become main material used in ocean engineering. A welded joint is nonuniform structure that composed weld seam (WM), base metal (BM), heat-affected zone (HAZ). When an alloy used, it easier to form galvanic corrosion, stress pitting than when single used. Therefore, failure often occurs at joint. In this article, classical electrochemical testing (EIS Tafel) surface morphology analysis (SEM EDS) were study joint, microarray electrode (WBE) was added for first The behavior each TA2 flowing overall tendency after coupling three zones studied macro- submicroscales.
